I went in for a mitomycin trabeculectomy procedure. During the surgery, they included me in their conversation so I didn't panic at all. They treated me very well during the operation and a nurse held my hand throughout the whole procedure. I found it a little difficult to take in what was done after the operation as I couldn't see out of the operated eye and my I can't see very much out of my right eye. It was a little frightening which is why I couldn't really take in the information afterwards I was, however, given a document with everything written down with all the medication I had to take. The aftercare is excellent and Tahmina is very friendly, explains things well and is very approachable. I would not hesitate to recommend her if asked.

For the past few years I have been attending the eye clinic due to high pressure. However this year the pressure had become dangerously high and the eye drops and tablets we simply not bringing the pressure down to a reasonable level. This was when I had the privilege of meeting Miss Pearsall. Upon meeting this wonderful friendly consultant , I felt immediately at ease . Despite how busy she was, she spent time explaining to me what needed to done to ensure that I maintained my sight . This was having surgery to reduce any further damage to my eye which would have a massive impact on my life. She listened to my concerns and that I was marked urgent . She was friendly and warm - her approach was simply amazing and her smile immediately made you smile despite feeling somewhat anxious about what the future held. On the day of the cataract surgery , her kind thoughtful approach was extremely comforting, in fact her whole team were superb. I will not forget being wheeled in to the operating theatre to the sounds of Mamma Mia and her kindness throughout always making sure that I was doing ok , always checking in with me . Within a week it was clear to her after the initial checkup that I needed trabeculectomy and I was swiftly booked in - operation explained in terms I could understand and with complete confidence and removed all my doubts and fears . So the following week I had my second operation and things were starting to look promising. The continued care that she has shown me makes you feel how valued you are as a person - she is simply the best - to me she is a rockstar! It is a true testament when you speak to any staff member in the eye clinic - Horsham or at Redhill and you mention that Miss Pearsall is your consultant and their faces light up with a smile and tell you how fantastic she is and what a lovely person. 5 stars is simply not enough - where is the 6th star - that’s what I would like to give Miss Pearsall - simply outstanding and a credit to the NHS service .

I am 59 years old and have developed glaucoma and a cataract. I have an underlying condition Fuchs heterochromic iridocyclitis. I had been advised by two doctors that when I have the cataract operation a consultant should do it as Fuchs can cause complications. During the pandemic my regular checkups had been cancelled so the cataract had got very dense over the past 18 months. I was booked in for the operation at Crawley Hospital on 23 November and was delighted that Miss Pearsall would be performing the procedure. I was nervous as I understood there could be complications but she soon put me at my ease with her friendly, professional and caring manner. It was nice to have music playing during the op and she constantly checked that I was feeling ok. Miss Pearsall came to have a chat with me as I was having my post op cup of tea and I was very grateful for her honesty, humour and professionalism. Today I’ve had my follow up appointment and I’m delighted that my vision is so much better. Also, the pressure which was of concern is much improved too. I would not hesitate to recommend Miss Pearsall to anyone considering cataract and/or glaucoma treatment.

I first met Dr Pearsall on 26th July 2021 for a follow up appointment, which should have happened in October 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. Dr Pearsall informed me my eye pressure was dangerously high and I required immediate treatment as I could lose my sight. She arranged appointments and procedures as a matter of urgency and I knew from that point I was being well looked after. I had a follow up appointment and my cataract procedure within three weeks. Whilst the operation went well there was an issue replacing my lens due to the high pressure. Dr Pearsall was reassuring, gentle and kind throughout the whole procedure. Before leaving the hospital Dr Pearsall booked the theatre for the following Wednesday to treat my glaucoma - she was actually on annual leave that day but said she would cancel and perform the procedure herself as she knew my sight was still in danger. The trabeculectomy was rather complicated and took a couple of hours.... as this was an operation I had to remain awake for Dr Pearsall kept checking I was okay and played country music to take my mind off what was happening. After the operation she told me it had been more successful then they had hoped and were pleased they were able to save my sight. This was very reassuring. It has taken a while for my eyesight to return and at times this has been rather concerning, however at all subsequent check up appointments Dr Pearsall has reassured me I am doing so well considering how major the operation was and recovery could take 6-12 months. I could not have been in more capable hands. From my initial appointment Dr Pearsall has shown great care and I have been fortunate to have benefitted from her outstanding quality of medical expertise. Myself and my family are forever grateful.

Tahmina was very clear about the cataract procedure, and did a fantastic job on both of my eyes. I was understandably nervous about the surgery, but she put me at my ease and her confident approach was very reassuring.
